Originally from Siler City, North Carolina, Eddie is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League. He played for the New York Jets, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Washington Redskins. He played college football at the University of North Carolina, and was drafted into professional football in the sixth round of the 1995 NFL draft.
After a shoulder injury forced him to retire, Mason decided to hold a sports camp for kids. Seeing the positive impact that a combination of athletic and spiritual training had, in 2004 he opened a training program and gym in Sterling, Virginia under the name MASE Training Sports Performance & Fitness Center. Playing off of Mason’s nickname, MASE is an acronym for Muscle And Spiritual Empowerment. At the 7,500 square foot, two-floor facility, he and other trainers serve a clientele base made up of grade school, junior high, and high school students, stay-home moms, CEOs, college football players, and current and former Washington Redskins players.
