“Should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot distinguish between their right and their left, as well as many animals?” Jonah 4:11
The majority of the world’s population live in mega-cities; cities with a lot more than the 120,000 people of Ninevah. If you think God doesn’t care about the condition of our world’s cities, think again! God cares deeply, and He desires His church to GO to the cities and fulfill the Great Commission there.
It is time for the church to get serious about impacting the mega-cities for Christ. The city is where Jesus would be. As His followers, we must go to them or risk disobedience, as Jonah demonstrated in his unwillingness to GO. Author Don Overstreet draws from his decades worth of experience ministering to people in the inner-cities to show you how vital it is that we take this command of God’s seriously.
We must plant our lives and God’s church firmly in the cities and we must do it now!
